Our Services

The New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education offers a number of services to support gifted children and their parents, educators and others who connect with young gifted New Zealanders. We are gifted education specialists – we know what gifted children need and how best to meet those needs.

Small Poppies Stimulate inquiring and creative minds with a unique shared learning experience, for 2-6 year-old gifted children and their parents or caregivers.

MindPlus Guided by specialist teachers, 6-13 year-old children experience intellectual challenge and explore their talents and passions while unpacking what it means to be gifted. 

Gifted Online Connecting gifted children for creative and intellectually challenging learning experiences.  

Consultancy Service Practical advice, guidance and resourcing support to help educators and parents build understanding and support for gifted children.

Resource Base Resources to support the teaching and parenting of gifted children, curriculum design for gifted programmes and academic study in gifted education.

Gifted Aotearoa

Network of Expertise

Gifted Aotearoa is a national Network of Expertise established to improve the quality of education offered to young gifted New Zealanders. Gifted Aotearoa is funded by the Ministry of Education, providing support through sharing professional expertise, growing local networks, nurturing local leadership and developing professional pathways. The Network is part of the MoE PLD plan and provided primarily for state and integrated school principals, management, and educators in New Zealand schools and kura.

The network is currently offering opportunities for distance modules, face to face hui, independent research and collaborative projects.

Stepping up for young gifted learners

For the first time EVER, the Ministry of Education have put some money into PLD for kaiako in early years services.

Micro modules delivered with distance support and/or direct support in the early learning service with kaiako and whānau.
