New Zealand Centre for Gifted Education is excited to share the successes of talented kiwi kids! The Future Problem Solving competitions are well participated in NZ and winners of the NZ competition are awarded an opportunity to participate in the World Championships each year held in Ames, Iowa. Here are the results from last weeks' finals:

 

Community Problem Solving team from Hukerenui School were the Junior Grand Champions

 

Scenario Writing –Junior Division – 2nd Place -  Leah Albrow, Cobham Int 

 

Presentation of Action Plan – Senior Division – Kristin School – 1st Place, Nelson Colleges – 5th Place

 

Global Issues Problem Solving – MAGIC Competition1st Place – Rocky Jiang – Kristin School, 2nd Place – Oliver Denny – Kristin School. (In the MAGIC competition, students are mixed with other students from around the world and they compete as a team).

 

Individual Global Issues Problem Solving – Middle Division – 3rd Place – Paige Chong – Cobham Int, 4th Place – Ethel Chen – Burnside High School.
