Elizabeth Wilson is our Blogger today. Elizabeth is the Director of Gifted and Talented at Shirley Boys' High School and her blog reflects her thoughts around what gifted students need from their teachers and/or gifted specialists.
"Gifted Specialists hope that our students will develop as self-motivated, independent learners. We want them to be productive and contribute to society in meaningful ways. We want to deliver leading edge learning to our gifted kids. We aim to be teachers with passion, and deep understanding of giftedness and a commitment to extending gifted kids to high levels of success. Whatever that success may look like for them. We want to utilise our own strengths as educators to help our students discover their own and develop these into talents. We want to do it all! With humour, passion and style."
